Terms & Conditions

All clients MUST agree to abide by the terms below. 

In booking with us, and having our lifeguard work at your event, you hereby agree to be bound by the terms below:

1. BOOKINGS

1a. Booking is required at least 1 week before the event. 

1b. Booking less than 1 week in advance incurs a rush fee of $50. 

1c. Booking 2 days or less before the event incurs an urgent rush fee of $75. If we cannot secure a lifeguard for your event, you will receive a full refund next business day. We will contact you as soon as possible to confirm if we can take your last-minute request.

1d. 50% deposit required at time of booking to secure your date & time slot. Full payment is required 48 hours before the start of the event

2. CHANGES TO YOUR BOOKING OR CANCELLATION

2a. If a time or date change to your event booking is needed, the change is honored free of charge only for the first time or date change you make, as long as it is at least a week before your event. Please do so in writing by replying to the booking confirmation email. Any additional time or date changes (including those within a week of the event) incur a $30 change fee.

2b. Requests to change event date or time with less than 72 hours’ notice - If the lifeguard assigned is unavailable for the new schedule, a rush fee of $50 per lifeguard will be added to your total to assign a new lifeguard. In the event no lifeguards are available for the new schedule, you will receive a 50% refund of your booking total, less the rush fee.

2c. Requests to change event date or time with less than 24 hours’ notice - If the lifeguard assigned is unavailable for the new schedule, a rush fee of $100 per lifeguard will be added to your total to assign a new lifeguard. In the event no lifeguards are available for the new schedule, no refund will be issued, including the rush fee.

2d. Cancellations 72 hours before the event date will be refunded, less 25% of the deposit

Less than 72 hours before the event date = 50% of your booking total will be refunded

Within 24 hours of the event = No refund

2e. If dangerous weather conditions arise, contact us before the scheduled event time to reschedule and receive a full refund with no penalty.

2f. Refunds may take up to 5 business days to be processed. Refunds are only issued by the same method as they were paid.

2g. If the event is shorter than scheduled, the remaining balance will be refunded after the two-hour minimum requirement is met.

2h. Any incurred Rush Fee is non-refundable.

3. SAFETY

3a. Ratio of lifeguard to swimming guests is 1:15. If more than 15 swimmers are expected, an additional lifeguard is required.

3b. 4 hours max for a solo lifeguard. If your event exceeds 4 hours, a 2nd lifeguard is required for proper rest breaks to maintain vigilance.

3c. The lifeguard will go over basic pool rules to keep guests safe (eg, no running along the edge of the wet pool deck). Please mention any specific rules you would also like the lifeguard to enforce as well.

3d. All parents are to be informed prior to the event that weak swimmers need to be accompanied by an adult and be wearing life jackets. Without compliance, lifeguards may have the child exit the water. 

3e. The client is to ensure the pool is clean and the required chemicals are balanced to ensure clarity of the water.

3f. If only one (1) lifeguard is present and they need to use the restroom, please ensure a responsible adult is watching the pool until their return.

3g. WEATHER - In the event of lightning during your event, all persons swimming must be removed from the water. The lifeguard will then monitor lightning strikes with a timer. Once the lightning is clear for 15 minutes, guests can re-enter the water.

If any of the safety points mentioned above, or any part of normal lifeguarding procedures are not agreed to be followed or remedied by the client or host after being notified by the lifeguard(s) at the scene, the lifeguard(s) must remove themselves from the event. No refunds will be given to a client willfully in violation of the above safety rules.
