Our Story

Lifeguard Bahamas was founded by Christabelle Izevbizua, a Bahamian entrepreneur with 7 years of water safety experience. What began as a simple love for the water turned into a commitment to safety after she received lifeguard training and realized just how serious—and necessary—the role of a lifeguard truly is.

Certified through Starguard Elite in adult and child CPR/AED, Basic First Aid, Emergency Oxygen, and lifeguard instruction, Christabelle has trained and led 200+ lifeguards through both simulated tests and real-life emergencies. After her time as a Water Safety Instructor at Atlantis, she launched Lifeguard Bahamas to continue serving her community in a more personal and impactful way. 

Rooted in passion, preparedness, and community, Christabelle’s mission is to make it easier for individuals and organizations to access reliable, well-trained lifeguards through a trusted, local source. Beyond water safety, she is passionate about spreading awareness on the importance of lifeguard presence and making emergency response training more accessible for the community.

Looking ahead, Christabelle envisions a future where every public beach in The Bahamas is staffed with certified lifeguards—creating safer spaces for residents and visitors alike. For her, the most rewarding part of this journey is empowering others with life-saving skills that extend beyond the water.
